Labour ComplianceThe authority Labour Bureau, Ministry of Labour & Employment (LB), on Dcember 19, 2025, released the All-India Consumer Price Index (CPI) Numbers for Agricultural Labourers (AL) and Rural Labourers (RL) with base year 2019 = 100, compiled from price data collected across 787 sample villages in 34 States/UTs.

For November 2025, the CPI-AL increased by 1.00 point to 137.40, while the CPI-RL rose by 0.80 point to 137.30. The rise was primarily driven by food prices, with the Food Index increasing by 1.64 points for AL (to 138.49) and 1.34 points for RL (to 138.25). Marginal increases were also observed in clothing & footwear and miscellaneous groups, while fuel and light remained broadly stable.

On a year-on-year basis, inflation remained in the negative zone, with general inflation at –0.66% for AL and –0.47% for RL in November 2025. Food inflation also stayed negative at –2.95% for AL and –2.70% for RL, indicating moderation in price pressures compared to the previous year.
