The Ministry of Finance, (MoF), on December 31, 2025, notified the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of Low Ash Metallurgical Coke falling under tariff items 2704 00 10, 2704 00 20, 2704 00 30 and 2704 00 90 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The duty applies to goods originating in or exported from Australia, China PR, Colombia, Indonesia, Japan and Russia, and imported into India.
The notification follows the preliminary findings of the Designated Authority (DGTR), which concluded that the subject goods from the identified countries were being exported to India at dumped prices, resulting in material injury to the domestic industry, and that such injury was caused by dumped imports. Based on these findings, the Designated Authority recommended the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duty to address the injury suffered by the domestic producers.
Accordingly, exercising powers under Section 9A(2) of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, read with relevant provisions of the Anti-Dumping Rules, 1995, the Central Government has imposed a provisional anti-dumping duty on the specified goods, as detailed in the notified table, covering tariff classification, country of origin/export, producer, rate of duty, currency, and unit of measurement, pending final determination.
