EHS ComplianceThe Government of Goa, on January 01, 2026, issued a notification regarding directions to Tree Officers under the Goa Preservation of Trees Act.

The following has been stated: -

•The Government of Goa has issued directions to ensure due diligence, transparency, and public disclosure in granting tree-felling permissions, including verification of land ownership, uploading orders online, and sharing with local authorities.

•Tree Officers must upload permissions within 2 days, map permitted felling and plantation areas on the Gati Shakti Portal, and clearly record reasons for refusal of permissions.

•Time limits and authority levels for granting tree-felling permissions are specified, along with mandatory appeal windows and forfeiture of security deposits for non-compliance with plantation requirements.
