Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on December 31, 2025, issued amendments to tariff Values for Crude Oil, Palm Oil and Palmolein.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) exercising powers under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) dated August 03, 2001. Through this amendment, TABLE-1, TABLE-2, and TABLE-3 of the notification are substituted with revised tariff value tables.

The revised tables specify updated tariff values for select goods, including:

• Edible oils such as crude and refined palm oil, palmolein, and soybean oil

• Metals and scrap, including brass scrap

• Precious metals like gold and silver (in specified forms and subject to certain conditions)

• Areca nuts, for which the tariff value remains unchanged

These revised tariff values will be used for the purpose of customs valuation and duty assessment in accordance with the Customs Act.
