Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Power (MoP) on December 29, 2025, notified regarding the rescission of Energy Conservation (Partial Risk Guarantee Fund and Venture Capital Fund for Energy Efficiency) Rules.

The Central Government, exercising powers under the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 and in consultation with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), has rescinded the following rules:

• Energy Conservation (Partial Risk Guarantee Fund for Energy Efficiency) Rules, 2016

• Energy Conservation (Venture Capital Fund for Energy Efficiency) Rules, 2017

These funds were originally established to accelerate energy efficiency financing in India. Following a review held on September 11, 2025, it was decided to close both funds and rescind the related rules after completing the due process for dissolution of the Trust administering them. The Director General, BEE, acting as Managing Trustee and Chairman, has completed the dissolution process and informed the other trustees.

The rescission does not affect any actions already taken, or any rights, obligations, liabilities, remedies, proceedings, indemnities, or past acts arising under the rescinded rules.
