Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Coal (MoC), on November 2025, released the provisional National Coal Index (NCI) with base year 2017–18, compiled as per the approved methodology. The All-India NCI for Indian coal declined from 132.79 in October 2025 to 127.08 in November 2025, reflecting moderation in coal prices during the month.

Sector-wise, the Non-coking coal index decreased from 132.84 to 126.87, while the Coking coal index moved from 132.65 to 127.68. Among sub-segments, notable softening was observed in top-grade non-coking coal (G1–G6/imported) and top-grade coking coal (STI–STII/imported), whereas bottom-grade coking coal (WI–WIV) showed a marginal increase, indicating mixed price trends across grades.

Alongside the index, provisional representative prices (₹/tonne) for November 2025 were also released. Prices across most non-coking grades (G1–G14) showed a decline compared to October 2025, while certain coking grades recorded marginal increases. The indices and prices remain provisional, as import data is tentative, and historical series have been provided in the annexed tables.
