The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on December 31, 2025, notified regarding the Extension of the Timeline for the Upload of Client KYC Records to KRAs for Validation.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It extends the deadline for Depository Participants (DPs) to upload client KYC records to KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs) for validation to January 30, 2026, in view of ongoing industry compliance challenges.
• This extension is in line with SEBI’s KYC framework requirements, which mandate that DPs upload KYC data of all non-closed demat accounts to KRAs and ensure validation/registration status.
• The move aims to improve interoperability across market infrastructure institutions and avoid disruptions to investor transactions due to unvalidated KYC records.
• NSDL has reminded DPs that only clients with “KYC Registered” or “KYC Validated” status should be permitted to transact, and that pending uploads must be completed within the extended timeline.
