EHS ComplianceThe Government of Uttar Pradesh, on December 08, 2025, issued the Uttar Pradesh Water (Consent for Discharge of Sewage and Trade Effluents) (Third Amendment) Rules, 2025, to further amend the Uttar Pradesh (Consent for Discharge of Sewage and Trade Effluents) Rules, 1981.

The following amendment has been stated namely:-

• In the said rules for the existing Schedule-1 set out in Column-I below, the Schedule as set out in the Column-II shall be substituted, namely:-

• Under the substituted Schedule-I (Industries: Consent to Operate Fees), industries with a capital investment of more than ₹1,000 crore are required to pay consent fees based on their pollution category. The initial fee is fixed at ₹5.0 lakh, while the annual renewal fee varies according to classification: ₹5.0 lakh for Green category, ₹5.75 lakh for Orange category, and ₹6.5 lakh for Red category, thereby linking the renewal cost to the environmental impact level of the industry.
