The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB), on December 29, 2025, notified regarding the Categorisation of industries which are not included in categorization list of the Central Pollution Control Board.
The following has been stated namely:-
• Clarification of ‘Small scale restaurant’:- Small-scale restaurant or hotel without room/cloud kitchens or Resorts (without stay/room facility) was categorised under White Circular cited 4th, as directed by MoEF. It is clarified that small-scale units in terms of restaurants shall be considered as restaurants with a seating capacity of up to 20 seats.
• The sector ‘Restaurants having seating capacity up to 20 seats’ is categorised vide Circular No. PCB/T4/115/97(B) dated August 25, 2020, stands cancelled.
