EHS ComplianceThe Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on December 30, 2025, issued the notification regarding the Prohibition of Electric Detonators with Specified Exemptions for Oil & Gas Operations and Defence Use

The following has been stated namely: -

• The manufacture, possession, sale, use and import of the electric detonator (explosive of Class 6 Division 3 or UN Class 1 Division 1) is prohibited throughout the country with effect from the July 01, 2025.

• Such prohibition shall not be applicable for suitable Detonators for Oil well logging operations by oil and gas operator companies for oil exploration and production till December 31, 2027

• The manufacture of low resistance ED is permitted for production of Electronic Point Detonating Fuse for supply to the Indian Army till December 31, 2026.
