The Government of Bihar, on December 29, 2025, issued an important public notice informing stakeholders about the formulation of draft rules under various Labour Codes by the State Government in exercise of the powers conferred under the respective Codes. In accordance with the statutory requirement, the draft rules have been placed in the public domain to invite objections and suggestions from the general public.
The draft rules have been uploaded on the official website of the department and are available under the “Labour Code” and “Notice Board” tabs. A period of forty-five days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette has been prescribed for submitting objections and suggestions. The draft rules notified include the Draft Code on Wages (Bihar) Rules, 2025 (Gazette No. 1753 dated 05.12.2025), Draft Industrial Relations (Bihar) Rules, 2025 (Gazette No. 1754 dated 05.12.2025), and Draft Social Security (Bihar) Rules, 2025 (Gazette No. 1762 dated 10.12.2025).
The notice further clarifies that objections or suggestions, if any, on the aforesaid draft rules may be submitted in writing to the Labour Commissioner, Bihar, or sent through email within the stipulated period, for consideration by the State Government before finalisation of the rules.
