Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) on December 23, 2025, issued the Guidance for Classification of Product Groups in Testing & Calibration Field.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The NABL guidance document helps testing and calibration laboratories classify product groups while defining their scope of accreditation and calculating applicable fees; it does not limit accreditation only to listed groups.

• The document systematically covers testing disciplines such as Biological, Chemical, Diagnostic Radiology, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, NDT, Forensic, Photometry, Radiological, and Software & IT Systems.

• It also includes detailed calibration classifications, covering electro-technical, mechanical, thermal, optical, radiological, fluid flow, medical devices, and chemical metrology.

• Overall, NABL 120 ensures uniformity, clarity, and transparency in how laboratories categorize their activities during NABL accreditation applications.
