The Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Tea Board India (TBI), on January 01, 2026, issued the revised Rates of Soil and allied Testing Charges at Darjeeling Tea Research and Development Centre, Kurseong.
The following has been stated namely: -
• This is to inform all concerned that the Tea Board of India has decided to revise the soil and allied testing charges at the Darjeeling Tea Research and Development Centre (DTRDC), Kurseong, as detailed below:
• Revised Testing Charges (per sample)
• Soil Routine Test (Top + Sub)
Estimation of 6 parameters, namely pH, Organic Carbon, Available Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), Potassium (K) and Sulphur (S).
• Existing charges: ₹200 + 18% GST
• Revised charges: ₹400 + 18% GST
• The revised rates shall be effective from January 01, 2026.
• However, samples received for testing up to December 31, 2025, will be charged at the existing (old) rates. For individual STG of Darjeeling, the old rates will continue to apply.
