The Government of Karnataka on January 06, 2026, issued an amendment to the older notification (22/2023) No. FD 20 CSL 2023, dated September 30, 2023, stating the supply of online money gaming, supply of online gaming other than online money gaming, and supply of actionable claims in casinos.
The following has been amended, namely: -
• It states that after clause (iii), a new clause (iv) has been inserted to include pan masala, unmanufactured tobacco (other than tobacco leaves), cigarettes, other manufactured tobacco products (excluding bidis), and specified inhalation products containing tobacco or nicotine where RSP is declared on the package.
• The amendment clearly defines “retail sale price” and provides rules for situations involving multiple, altered, or area-specific RSP declarations to ensure uniform valuation.
• These changes will come into force from February 01, 2026.
