The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority, (NPPA), on January 06, 2026, computed the retail price of a scheduled formulation under paragraph 5 of the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013 (DPCO, 2013). The price fixation pertains to Each Film Coated Bilayered Tablet containing myo-Inositol IP 600 mg and Metformin Hydrochloride IP 500 mg (sustained release).
The formulation is manufactured by M/s Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and marketed by M/s Macleods Pharmaceuticals Ltd. In the price computation process, NPPA examined the claimed price of ₹31.00 per tablet (excluding GST) against the ceiling price derived using the market-based pricing methodology prescribed under DPCO, 2013.
Based on the calculation, the retail price has been worked out and proposed at ₹23.59 per tablet (excluding GST), which shall be the applicable retail price for the said formulation, subject to statutory compliance under DPCO, 2013 and other applicable provisions.
