The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) on January 06, 2026, notified regarding the change in the additional supporting file (.TXT) for DP Billing under NSDL ePASS.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has announced a change in the format of the supporting billing file (.TXT) provided to Depository Participants (DPs) under the NSDL ePASS system, applicable from December 2025 monthly bills onwards.
• Currently, DPs receive an invoice (PDF) along with a fixed-length, space-separated TXT file. Based on participant feedback, NSDL will now provide an enhanced, pipe-delimited (|) TXT file containing detailed billing information.
• The new delimited TXT format will be provided along with the invoice, with the file naming convention: <DPID>_<BillMonth><BillYear>.txt (e.g., IN001234_NOV2025.txt).
• The existing bill file format will continue till March 2026 bills and will be discontinued from the April 2026 bill onwards.
• The annexure specifies 20 data fields (such as DP ID, transaction details, ISIN, client ID, quantity, amount, order number, etc.), indicating whether each field is mandatory or optional and its applicability across various bill heads.
• The circular also provides a comprehensive list of DP bill heads/codes (e.g., Settlement Fees, Annual Maintenance Fee, Pledge Fees, CAS Fees, SEBI Fees, SPEED-e charges, Miscellaneous and Annual charges) along with their billing frequency (monthly, quarterly, or annual).
