BIS Withdrawal of Indian Standards Bunched Enamelled Copper Wires with Silk Covering

Commercial ComplianceThe Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), on January 08, 2026, issued a notification under the Department of Consumer Affairs, in pursuance of sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. Through this notification, BIS has announced the cancellation and withdrawal of certain Indian Standards.

As per the notification, IS 7576:1974 – Specification for Bunched Enamelled Copper Wires with Silk Covering and IS 15999 (Part 26):2016 / IEC 60034-26:2006 – Rotating Electrical Machines: Effects of Unbalanced Voltages on the Performance of Three-Phase Cage Induction Motors have been withdrawn. Both standards stand cancelled with effect from 18 December 2025, as indicated in the Schedule annexed to the notification.

The withdrawal signifies that these standards shall no longer be in force from the specified date, and stakeholders are required to take note of the same for compliance, certification, and reference purposes under the BIS regulatory framework.
