The Ministry of Electronics & IT on January 08, 2026, notified regarding the launch of the Aadhaar mascot Udai.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched an Aadhaar mascot named “Udai (उदय)” to simplify and humanise communication related to Aadhaar services for residents.
• The mascot will help explain Aadhaar-related processes such as updates, authentication, offline verification, selective data sharing, adoption of new technologies, and responsible usage in a more relatable manner.
• Udai was selected through open national design and naming competitions on the MyGov platform, which received 875 entries from participants across India, following a multi-tier and transparent evaluation process.
