The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on January 08, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Compliance Reporting Formats for Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs).
The following has been stated namely: -
• SEBI has introduced a regulatory framework for Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs) through its circular dated February 27, 2025, along with subsequent circulars.
• To ensure uniform and clear compliance reporting, SEBI has aligned SIF reporting requirements with those applicable to Mutual Funds.
• All reporting requirements under the SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations, 1996, the MF Master Circular dated June 27, 2024, and related guidelines will also apply to SIFs.
• The Compliance Test Report (CTR) format is modified to include an additional Part IV, and Asset Management Companies managing SIFs must report this as part of their MF CTR.
• The Half-Yearly Trustee Report (HYTR) format is amended to include Clause 72A, and Trustees of Mutual Funds managing SIFs must report compliance accordingly.
• The following Annexures have been attached namely: -
o Part-IV of Compliance Test Report (CTR) – Annexure A1
o Clause 72A of HYTR – Annexure A2
This shall come into force on January 08, 2026.
