Industry Specific ComplianceThe Karnataka State Legislature (KSL), on January 8, 2026, notified the Karnataka Land Revenue (Second Amendment) Act, 2025, following the assent of the Governor on January 7, 2026, as published in the Karnataka Gazette (Extra-ordinary). The Act further amends the Karnataka Land Revenue Act, 1964 to address specific administrative issues relating to land records.

The amendment inserts a new sub-section (4) in Section 127, conferring special powers on the Tahsildars of Kodagu District to correct or delete certain land record entries. These powers relate specifically to entries transferred from Column 3 of the Jamabandi Register to Columns 9 and 12 of the RTC, including consequential entries, to ensure conformity with the statutory provisions governing record maintenance.

The provision mandates due procedure and enquiry before making such corrections and provides a statutory right of appeal against orders passed by the Tahsildar, in accordance with the Act. The amendment shall come into force on a date to be notified separately by the State Government.
