The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on January 05, 2026, issued a notification regarding extension for Amateur/HAM migration on the Saral Sanchar portal of DoT.
The following has been stated: -
•Vide OMs of even number dated March 11, 2025, and October 09, 2025, WPC Wing advised holders of old manually issued Amateur/HAM Licenses to migrate to the digital format on the Saral Sanchar portal by December 15, 2025.
•Requests were received from some Amateurs seeking extension of the migration deadline.
•After examination, the last date for submission of applications for migration of valid Amateur licenses/certificates has been extended up to June 15, 2026.
•ASO Certificate holders are informed that licenses/certificates issued through the Saral Sanchar portal will be preferred for the grant of related permissions, such as Special Call Sign and Amateur Society recognition.
