EHS ComplianceThe Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) on June 27, 2025, issued the Integrated Guidance Framework for Chemicals Safety in Respect of the Isolated Storages and Industries Covered under Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals (MSIHC) Rules, 1989.

The following has been stated: -

•An integrated safety framework for industries and isolated storage handling hazardous chemicals to prevent major accidents and protect human health and the environment.

•It mandates that occupiers identify hazards, maintain up-to-date on-site emergency plans, and conduct independent safety audits annually. 

•The guidelines also define the duties of regulatory authorities, including the preparation of off-site emergency plans, conducting rehearsals, and overseeing chemical imports.

•Additionally, it establishes technical standards for equipment testing, employee training, and the implementation of automatic alarm systems to ensure rapid response during emergencies.
