The Finance Department, Rajasthan on January 07, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Voluntary Aadhaar Authentication for Identity Verification in Document Registration in Rajasthan
The following has been stated namely: -
• Aadhaar authentication is permitted to establish identity for document registration under the Registration Act, 1908, as approved by MeitY in consultation with UIDAI.
• The Finance Department, Government of Rajasthan is authorized to perform Aadhaar authentication for presenters, executants, and witnesses during registration.
• Aadhaar authentication is voluntary, and explicit consent of the Aadhaar number holder must be obtained.
• If Aadhaar authentication is refused or not possible, alternate identification documents must be accepted (Jan Aadhaar Card, EPIC, Passport, Driving License), and services cannot be denied.
This shall come into force on January 07, 2026
