EHS ComplianceThe Pollution Control Committee (PCC), Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu on January 07, 2026, notified regarding the restrictions on Import and Use of Waste Tyres and Directions for Crumb Rubber Producers.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has informed all registered waste tyre recyclers, importers, crumb rubber producers, Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) units, and other stakeholders that import of waste tyres is permitted only for environmentally sound recycling into end products such as reclaimed rubber, crumb rubber, CRMB, and recovered carbon black. 

• The import or use of waste tyres for the production of Tyre Pyrolysis Oil (TPO) or char is strictly prohibited under the Hazardous and Other Wastes (Management and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016, as amended. 

• To prevent indirect diversion of imported waste tyres to TPO units, crumb rubber producers are prohibited from selling or supplying crumb rubber derived from imported waste tyres to TPO units and are required to maintain detailed batch-wise records, submit annual undertakings, and report transactions quarterly on the CPCB EPR Waste Tyre Portal. 

• Non-compliance will invite stringent action, including environmental compensation, cancellation of consent or EPR registration, closure directions, and legal prosecution under applicable environmental laws. 

• The directions come into force with immediate effect.
