The Government of Maharashtra on January 06, 2026, declared Public Holiday on account of Election to the 29 Municipal Corporation on Thursday, January 15, 2026. This public holiday is only applicable to the local government bodies Elections jurisdiction.
All the departments in Mantralaya are requested to bring these instructions to the notice of the Government and Semi-Government Offices, Corporations, Boards and other organizations under their administrative control. The said public holiday will also apply and be available to the registered voters of the poll-bound areas even if they are working outside the territorial limits of such areas. This public holiday also will be available to Government of India Offices, Semi-Government Offices, Undertakings and Banks etc.
