The Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications (MoC), on December 09, 2025, notified regarding the extension of timelines of instructions for KYC requirements for Internet Telephony Services.
The following has been stated, namely:-
• It has been conveyed that the extant KYC instructions, issued for Cellular Mobile Services from time to time, are applicable mutatis mutandis on all licensees holding Access Service authorisation and providing Internet Telephony services using mobile numbering series. Further, the extension of timelines of the implementation of said instructions is extended up to October 31, 2025.
• Subsequent to the request of licensees for extension of timelines of the implementation of said instructions, the undersigned has been directed to convey the approval of the competent authority that the timelines for implementation of DoT instructions dated 16.06.2025 on the subject mentioned above are hereby extended up to January 31, 2026. The licensees shall submit a fortnightly progress report (i.e. on 15.12.2025, 31.12.2025, 01.01.2026 and 31.01.2026) in this regard to the LP Wing.
