Labour ComplianceThe Andaman and Nicobar Administration (A&NA), on December 19, 2025, issued an order declaring a list of holidays with wages for the calendar year 2026 for industrial establishments functioning under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. The declaration has been made in pursuance of Labour Department Order No. 91 dated November 28, 1962, read with the Government of India Office Memorandum dated October 28, 1983.

The notified holidays include major national, religious, and festival occasions, such as Makar Sankranti/Magha Bihu/Pongal, Good Friday, May Day, Muharram, Id-uz-Zuha (Bakrid), Independence Day, Mahatma Gandhi’s Birthday, Dussehra, Diwali (Deepavali), Guru Nanak’s Birthday, Christmas Day, and Hazrat Ali’s Birthday, among others, which shall be observed as paid holidays by industrial establishments during 2026.

The order has been issued with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor (Administrator), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and is applicable to all concerned industrial establishments, which are required to comply with the holiday provisions for the year 2026 as notified.
