The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, on January 07, 2026, issued the Draft Pesticides Management Bill, 2025.
The following has been stated: -
•Section 3 of the act lays down various definitions of terms like animal and banned.
•Section 4 specifies the Constitution of the Central Pesticides Board.
•Section 5 specifies the composition, terms, and conditions of Members of the Board.
•It’s a Bill to comprehensively regulate pesticides to ensure their safe, effective use while minimising risks to humans, animals, and the environment, and promoting biological and traditional alternatives.
The Comments and suggestions on the draft bill and its provisions are invited from all stakeholders and the general public by February 04, 2026.
