The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) on January 13, 2026, issued the Electrical Accessories (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2026, further to amend the Electrical Accessories (Quality Control) Order, 2023.
In the said order, in Table-1, the last entry of Indian Standard “7809 (Part 3/ Sec 1): 1986” in column (2) and corresponding entry in column (3) i.e., “Specification for Pressure sensitive adhesive insulating tapes for electrical purposes- Part 3 requirements or individual materials – Sec 1 plasticized polyvinylchloride tapes with nonThermosetting adhesive” shall be omitted.
