The Government of Madhya Pradesh on January 12, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Exemption of Certain Privately Owned Tree Species from Transit Permit Requirements in Madhya Pradesh
The following has been stated namely: -
• The State Government has acted under Sections 41, 42, and 76 of the Indian Forest Act, 1927, and the Madhya Pradesh Transit (Forest Produce) Rules, 2022.
• Certain tree species with negligible availability in notified forest areas are exempted from the requirement of a transit permit under Rule 3(b), when owned by private individuals.
• The exempted trees include Neelgiri (Eucalyptus), Casuarina, Poplar, Subabul, and Vilayti Babul (Prosopis juliflora).
