The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD) on January 14, 2026, issued a notification regarding 3rd reallocation of Export Quota for export during Sugar Season 2025-26 and consequent adjustment of monthly release quantity on account of exchange of export quantity with domestic monthly release quantity.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government permitted export of 15 LMT of sugar vide letter dated November 14, 2025, along with prescribed export modalities.
•Under clause 4 of the guidelines, exchange of export quota with domestic monthly release quota was allowed.
•Requests and agreements between sugar mills for such exchange were examined by DFPD.
•Based on approval, additional export quantities were allocated and corresponding domestic quotas adjusted as per the Annexure.
