The Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on January 15, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Extension of the due date for filing of the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) for wage month December, 2025.
The following has been stated namely: -
• Due to the technical and operational difficulties in filing returns for the wage month of December, 2025, it has been decided by the competent authority to extend the due date for submission of ECR for the wage month of December, 2025.
• It is extended up to January 20, 2026.
• No interest or damages shall be levied for ECRs and payments made within the extended due date.
