The Ministry of Finance (MoF) on January 16, 2026, issued a notification regarding the extension of export Incentives to Postal Shipments.
The following has been stated: -
•CBIC has extended Duty Drawback, RoDTEP and RoSCTL benefits to exports made through the postal route in electronic form, effective January 15, 2026.
•The move provides a level playing field for postal exporters and is expected to significantly boost MSME and cross-border e-commerce exports, especially from smaller towns.
•Amendments to the Postal Export Regulations, 2022, have been notified along with a circular detailing operational procedures for claiming incentives.
•This initiative builds on wider digital and policy reforms, including Dak Niryat Kendras and automated postal export processing, to promote inclusive export growth.
