Industry Specific ComplianceThe Ministry of Steel (MoS), on January 13, 2026, notified regarding the One-time Exemption from Compliance under Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2025 for Certain Imported Consignments”.

The following has been stated, namely:-

• With reference to Cross Recessed Screws (Quality Control) Order, 2025 dated August 27, 2025, on Cross Recessed Screws issued by Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, with effective date of implementation as November 01, 2025, except for Small and Micro Enterprises for whom the implementation dates have been notified as February 01, 2026, and May 01, 2026, respectively. 

• Subsequently, work related to Iron and Steel products falling under Chapter 72 (4 HSN Codes) and Chapter 73 (250 HSN Codes) has been transferred by DPIIT to the Ministry of Steel vide OM. Dated 04th November, 2025. 

• Ministry receives various representations seeking one time exemption for the aforesaid QCO compliance for the consignments already arrived at the port. 

• In view of the above, consignments having an inward entry date between November 01, 2025, and January 12, 2026, are exempted from the quality control order.
