Secretarial ComplianceThe National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX), on January 16, 2026, notified regarding the applicability of Event based Additional Surveillance Margin (E-ASM) for Guar Gum and Turmeric.

The following has been stated namely: -

• In accordance with the same, based on the High - Low variation, [(High-Low)/Low x 100], E-ASM of 2.5 percent has been re-triggered and will be applicable on all the running contracts and yet to be launched contracts in Guar Gum till February 09, 2026. 

• The table indicates that, for most listed commodities—Barley, Castor Seed, Coriander, Jeera (including Jeera Mini), and Turmeric—no E-ASM trigger dates are specified for either 5-day (10%) or 10-day (15%) price movement criteria, with applicability largely marked as not applicable. Guar Gum is the only commodity where an E-ASM trigger is indicated, with a 10-day movement of 15% triggering E-ASM from 16 January 2026, applicable till 9 February 2026. In addition, Guar Seed and Turmeric have defined applicability end dates of 6 February 2026 and 5 February 2026, respectively, despite no specific trigger movement being mentioned.
