Secretarial ComplianceThe Multi-Commodity Exchange Clearing Corporation Limited (MCX) on January 16, 2026, notified regarding the revised list of Approved Commodities accepted as Collaterals.

The following has been stated namely: -

• It has revised the list of approved commodities eligible to be accepted as collateral, superseding Annexure 3 of Circular No. MCXCCL/C&S/295/2025 dated December 29, 2025, while all other terms and conditions of the earlier circular remain unchanged. 

• The updated list, effective from January 19, 2026, specifies eligible bullion and non-bullion commodities along with applicable haircuts and member-wise upper caps. 

• Bullion commodities such as Gold and Silver carry haircuts of 20% and 25% respectively, with an upper cap of ₹200 crore, while non-bullion commodities, including base metals, cotton, mentha oil, and cardamom, attract higher haircuts and lower caps. 

• The circular also reiterates overall collateral limits, restricts non-bullion exposure, and prescribes specific pledge and re-pledge procedures through ComRIS or CCRL accounts in favour of MCXCCL.
