The Bureau of Indian Standards, Ministry of Consumer Affairs (Bureau of Indian Standards – BIS), on January 9, 2026, issued a corrigendum to amend an earlier notification published in the Gazette of India under the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018. This corrigendum has been issued in exercise of powers under sub-rule (1) of Rule 15 of the said Rules. [Ref: HQ-PUB-BIS (1401)]
The corrigendum refers to Notification Ref. No. HQ-PUB015/1/2020-PUB-BIS (1286) dated July 08, 2025, which was published on July 14, 2025. In the Schedule to the said notification, at Serial No. 01, Column (5), the originally specified date “07 January 2026” has been revised.
Through this amendment, the date has been substituted with “07 July 2026”, thereby extending the relevant compliance or implementation timeline by six months. All stakeholders are advised to take note of this revised date for the purposes of compliance.
