EHS ComplianceThe Government of Goa on January 16, 2026, notified regarding the powers of the Committee for Sealing and De-sealing of Tourism Establishments.

The following has been stated namely: -

• The Committee is empowered to seal tourism-related establishments lacking valid statutory permissions, such as Fire Safety NOC, Excise License, or Trade License, resulting in immediate suspension of commercial operations. 

• Temporary de-sealing may be allowed only for limited purposes like removal of perishable or hazardous materials, rectification of deficiencies, or inspections, under strict supervision and without resumption of commercial activities. 

• Final de-sealing authority rests with the Additional Collector-II/Additional District Magistrate-II upon compliance verification and Committee recommendation, with a further right of appeal to the Collector/District Magistrate.
