The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on January 16, 2026, notified regarding the disposal/rejection of long-pending applications on the SUGAM Portal, awaiting query response.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has introduced a structured reminder mechanism to clear long-pending applications on the SUGAM portal that remain incomplete due to non-submission of replies to queries.
• Applications across multiple divisions, including drugs, cosmetics, biologics, and medical devices, pending since 2016–2018, are covered. Applicants receive three reminders at fixed intervals to respond to pending queries. Failure to respond leads to a final communication rejecting the application with forfeiture of fees.
• Applications pending with applicants for more than two years, and already covered under the three-reminder process, will be rejected after 30 days from the date of this public notice.
• Stakeholders are advised to respond to all queries within the stipulated timelines to avoid rejection.
