The Government of Gujarat, on January 16, 2026, issued the Procedure for online approval through e-portal for permission to cut trees on private lands for industrial and commercial purposes and for their reforestation.
The following has been stated, namely:-
• Grant of permission for tree felling: The applicant proposes felling of non-reserved trees and the total number of trees is less than 30, a technical opinion/inspection shall not be required. Where the number of trees is 10 or less, the competent authority shall issue a technical opinion/permission within 10 days.
• Deemed permission: If the technical opinion is not provided within 10 days, permission shall be deemed to have been granted.
• Time limit via Portal: Through the Integrated/online portal (IFP), the final order/pass shall be issued within 15 days, in accordance with applicable procedures and guidelines issued in 2018 and thereafter.
