Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Government of Punjab, on January 16, 2026, issued a notification extending the Amnesty Policy 2025 to facilitate recovery of outstanding instalments from defaulting allottees of plots/sites allotted or auctioned by Urban Development Authorities in the State. The extension aims to reduce pending litigations and provide an additional opportunity to eligible defaulters.

Under the extended policy, applications may be submitted up to 31 March 2026. Defaulting allottees whose applications are approved will be required to deposit the requisite outstanding amount with the concerned Special Development Authority within three months from the date of approval. Applications received after the cut-off date of 31 March 2026 shall not be entertained.

All other terms and conditions of the Amnesty Scheme 2025, as notified earlier on 20 February 2025, shall remain unchanged. The extension has been issued with the approval of the Council of Ministers in its meeting held on 9 January 2026.
