The Transport (B) Department, Kerala, on January 17, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Motor Vehicle Fitness Test Fee.
The following has been stated: -
•The Government of Kerala has revised the fees for conducting fitness tests for motor vehicles under Rule 81 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989.
•Different fee rates are prescribed based on vehicle category and age.
•Higher fees apply to vehicles older than 15 years, with further increases for those exceeding 20 years.
•The notification comes into force with immediate effect.
