The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) notified on January 19, 2026, regarding an enhancement to the NSDL e-PASS Portal for downloading details of deceased investors' PANs.
The following has been stated namely: -
• It has informed participants about the implementation of SEBI’s centralized mechanism for reporting the demise of investors through KYC Registration Agencies (KRAs). In line with SEBI and earlier NSDL circulars, NSDL has enabled a facility on the e-PASS portal for participants to download details of deceased investors based on demise-related PAN data received from KRAs.
• The data will be made available on a date-wise basis and can be accessed only for the last 15 days, after which it will no longer be available. Data received from KRAs up to January 2, 2026, will be available as of January 5, 2026.
• Participants can access this facility using existing maker/checker login credentials, with the detailed download procedure provided in the annexure enclosed.
