Industry Specific ComplianceThe Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on January 21, 2026, launched Electronic Personnel Licence Service for Airline Transport Pilot Licence.

DGCA highlighted that the EPL initiative is a significant step towards strengthening India 's civil aviation regulatory system through secure , modern , and future - ready digital systems . DG (CA) congratulated the DGCA teams and technology partners for their efforts in implementing this initiative and appreciated the cooperation extended by the aviation industry and stakeholders in adopting the new system.

The Electronic Personnel License is a secure digital license that incorporates ICAO - compliant security features to ensure authenticity, prevent tampering, and enable quick, timely verification . The EPL can be obtained through the EGCA mobile application.

DGCA had introduced EPL along with the introduction of Commercial Pilot License (CPL) and Flight Radio Telephone Operator (Restricted) License (FRTOL) in February 2025. With the launch of EPL services for ATPL, DGCA further strengthens its commitment to improve efficiency, transparency and improved service delivery to the aviation sector.
