EHS ComplianceThe Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) on September 11, 2025, issued clarifications on matters related to the use of private forest land for Compensatory Afforestation and the transfer of approval granted to the erstwhile lessee to the new lessee.

The following has been stated: -

•MoEF&CC clarified issues on the use of private forest land for compensatory afforestation and transfer of approvals after Advisory Committee review.

•Private forest land can be used for compensatory afforestation if recorded as forest land, provided at double the diverted area, and transferred to the Forest Department.

•Such land must be mutated in favour of the Forest Department and notified as a Protected Forest under applicable laws.

•Stage-II approvals under the Adhiniyam can be transferred from erstwhile to new lessees in line with Consolidated Guidelines.
