EHS ComplianceThe Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO) on February 05, 2026, issued a circular regarding third-party use of a storage shed for non-bulk storage of petroleum products licensed under the Petroleum Rules 2002.

The following has been stated: -

•Petroleum storage licences under Rule 141 are issued to applicants holding legal possession of the premises through registered lease or sale deeds.

•Licensees may allow third-party logistics companies or multiple users to share storage space, subject to licence conditions and rule compliance.

•The primary responsibility for compliance and adherence to licensed storage capacity remains with the licensee.

•If site rights cease, Rule 152 applies, and the licensee must also obtain all required approvals from other statutory authorities.
