class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;">The Ministry of Tourism February 12, 2026, issued the notification regarding the New Initiatives to promote destination based development for Tourism.
The following has been stated namely: -
• The Ministry of Tourism is promoting destination-based tourism development through infrastructure upgradation and enhanced visitor experiences across the country.
• Projects are sanctioned based on proposals from States/UTs, subject to guidelines, budget availability, and priority. Implementation and management are handled by respective State Governments/UT Administrations, focusing on tourist facilities, digital interventions, connectivity, sanitation, and site development.
• The schemes aim to boost tourism infrastructure, local employment, and visitor footfall nationwide.
• States/UTs have been advised to track data on footfall, employment, and revenue, while the Ministry continues destination promotion through digital and media outreach.
