The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on February 16, 2026, issued an amendment to the Direction No. D-27/ 1/1(1) /2025-QoS (E- 16147) dated June 09, 2025, regarding updation of Location Routing Number (LRN) on the DLT platform during the port out window under the provisions of the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018.
The following has been stated: -
•Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has amended its June 09, 202,5 Direction regarding updation of Location Routing Number (LRN) on the DLT platform during the port-out process under the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations, 2018.
•The earlier responsibility placed on the Donor Operator to update the LRN within 24 hours of successful porting led to delays and consumer inconvenience.
•The Authority has now shifted the responsibility for LRN updation to the Recipient Operator, to be completed within 24 hours of porting.
•Recipient Operators must also submit monthly reports to TRAI on complaints related to non-updation within the prescribed timeline.
