The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) on February 16, 2026, issued the notification regarding the Nifedipine SR 20 mg (Batch NR011) Declared Not of Standard Quality (NSQ)
The following has been stated namely: -
• Tab. Nifedipine Sustained Release IP 20 mg (Batch No. NR011; DOM: 10/2024; DOE: 09/2027) supplied by Nabros Pharma Pvt. Ltd. has been reported as “Not of Standard Quality” (NSQ) by the Government Analyst, Food & Drugs Laboratory, Vadodara.
• The sample failed to conform to IP 2022 standards for “Nifedipine Sustained Release Tablets” with respect to Dissolution (in acid stage) as per laboratory report
• All concerned units must immediately stop use and distribution of the affected batch.
• Replacement of the supplied stock or recovery of cost along with applicable testing charges must be initiated against the firm.
• Action should be taken as per relevant clauses of DGESIC Tender/Rate Contract (RC 150), and proper records of actions taken must be maintained at respective user units.
