The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), on February 24, 2026, issued an amendment in export policy of Wheat flour and related items falling under HS Code 1101.
The following has been stated:-
• Under ITC (HS) Code 1101 of Schedule 2 (2022), exports of wheat or meslin flour (atta), maida, semolina (rava/sirgi), wholemeal atta, and resultant atta are generally prohibited. However, as per DGFT Notification No. 39/2015–2020 dated October 14, 2022, read with Notification No. 55/2025–26 dated January 16, 2026, an additional export of up to 5 lakh metric tonnes (LMT) of wheat flour and related products under HS Code 1101 is permitted over and above the earlier allowed quantity, subject to the modalities to be notified by DGFT through a Public Notice.
• The export of wheat flour and related products under HS Code 1101 shall continue to remain "Prohibited". However, export of an additional 05 LMT of wheat flour and related products is allowed. This is in addition to the quantity allowed under Notification No. 55/2025-26 dated January 16, 2026. Detailed procedure for this purpose shall be notified separately.
